So last week was my first full week of classes for the spring semester. I'm liking my classes so far, even though I have a lot of work to do because I'm taking 2 art classes and 2 special topic classes. I'm taking Printmaking I, Screenprinting I, Music of the Caribbean, Understanding Stone Tools, and Composition 100 (again). I really like my art classes. Right now in my printmaking class we're carving wood blocks for printing and hand printing them by just rubbing the paper on the inked wood block until the print is completely transfered. I'm still in the process of carving but I'm almost done. I don't have the paper that I need though. We need a couple of sheets of Asian paper for this and the next project but I don't have the cash for it, especially because it's so expensive. In my screenprinting class we start printing today. I don't know which drawing I'm going to use for the first project, but my teacher said that all three of my drawings would be good for just about any of our projects, and she also said nothing needs to be fixed on them and what I drew will carry me through 2 other projects, so rock on! Our first one we're doing is involving a photographic process involving a really expensive film. I can't wait until later. My class is in about 5 hours. I still have to tape off my screen and photocopy my drawings onto transparent paper. I bought some transparency paper at the college bookstore for that.

My lithics class is my 3 hour, once a week class, but that's okay because we spend most of our time with hands on work with identifying tools and we leave a little early too. I have to read 2 chapters of the books by tomarrow night but that's ok because they're short and easy chapters. My music of the caribbean class is pretty cool too because a lot of our homework is to listen to music that's on reserve for us in the library. Which reminds me...I have to drop off the first cd at the library today. The comp class is the only one that I'm not excited about. This is probably the 5th time that I've taken it, and I'm hoping that I don't drop out of this one as well. I need to pass it so I can take all the other gen ed required writing classes so I can graduate in a decent time span. This time I'm 100% determined to get at least a B in all of my classes, so I think I'll end up spending most of my time doing homework and stuff.

Other than that, nothing else is really going on in my life. I'm helping my best friend with planning her wedding. She's getting married on May 31. I'm taking pictures as well And I'm also probably going to be her maid of honor, although she still has to see who is absolutely coming to her wedding. If not, I'm still going to be a bridesmaid. Another one of my friends, one that I've had since high school, is getting married in August and she asked me to be a photographer for the wedding. I'm definitely going to do it. I was flattered that she asked me to do it. I'm also the photographer at my other friend's wedding It's my gift to both of them, seeing how I'll probably be broke by then.

I plan on posting my screen and woodcut prints here, but I still have to install my new printer. It's professional quality, not part of one of those 3-in-one deals.

Anyways, I should go now and prepare for my class. I still have to go in early and tape off my screen. Bye
